A symbol of pioneering spirit
hw.design has developed the logo and corporate design for the new Dornier Museum in Friedrichshafen, Germany.
The museum building, designed by Munich-based architects Allmann, Sattler & Wappner, is currently under construction in Friedrichshafen, Germany. Atelier Brückner is responsible for the exhibition design. After completion in summer 2009, the exhibits will illustrate the outstanding engineering achievements of the Dornier family, who have entered the history books as aviation pioneers.
In addition to remarkable Dornier aircraft, which contributed to shaping the history of aviation, other fascinating technical inventions will be on show at the museum.
hw.design has developed a logo in cooperation with project office CoDo GmbH, which symbolises the powerful vision and fascination associated with flying.
It reflects the mood of an era during which flying represented the yearning for freedom and independence more strongly than is the case today. A time in which experimenting with the available technology was driven by a pioneering spirit and courage, in order to get a little closer to realising the vision of freedom.
The Dornier family was shaped by this founding era of aviation. Alongside a superb collection of technical exhibits and aircraft and models not previously seen, the museum therefore also pays homage to the pioneering spirit of this era.
