When designing Munksjö’s exhibition stand, hw.design’s brief was to make paper the tangible innovation medium for the brand.

Munksjö is a leading international provider of decor paper, specialist paper products and veneer finishing for wood. It gives surfaces design and structure and enables virtually limitless design possibilities.

Munksjö began its new communication strategy with the claim “Material for innovative product design”, promoting customer focus and strategic innovation as a “productive service provider”.

Munksjö’s exhibition strapline for INTERZUM 2011 in Cologne, “expand to a new level” conveys the visual and atmospheric message. The design highlighted new perspectives and provided a space for impromptu meetings. As the material for innovation, paper was presented as an effortlessly unfolding display to surprise and fascinate.

The basis for the display was the new “Made by Munksjö” logo of a folded corner at the top right-hand side of a sheet. A large sheet folded to reflect this design developed into a space built to look like a large fold.

This dynamic sculpture provided an inspiring space for discussions with Munksjö.
