Project Manager Operations f/m/d

Focus Publishing & Reporting
hw.design gmbh — Munich — as of now

Priority 1, Priority 2, Priority 3. “Just a quick Teams call.” Moco open, Moco close, what’s on Trello, email, email, call — another to-do.
“Do you have everything you need as a team?” Quality assurance, efficiency, trust.
“We’ll take care of it right away, see you soon!” Evaluate, argue, guarantee an overview.
“Where do we actually stand with the costs?” That should sound familiar to you.
“Can you double-check that?” — “The project parameters have changed.” — “Isn’t it time for a coffee now?”
That’s the team. The team at hw.design, looking for a Project Manager Operations (m/f/d) full-time.

Who are we?

hw.d is a first-class, professionally run, award-winning design agency for corporate experiences in branding, communication and reporting, based in the heart of Munich. Our strategic approach, outstanding design expertise and interdisciplinary way of working, combined with a forward-looking perspective, make us a leading agency for future-ready corporate identities. Since 1995, we have been supporting companies ranging from start-ups to DAX-listed corporations. Our focused team comprises around 20 staff members, supported by an extensive network in consulting, strategy, design, communication and implementation.

Your responsibilities:

Together with internal and external colleagues from various departments, you are the central point of contact on the agency side for the delivery of extensive and content-wise demanding publications and websites. These can be produced traditionally using InDesign or generated from systems. You oversee not just one, but several projects — all the while maintaining a clear overview of every step and topic.

As a Project Manager Operations (m/f/d), you are responsible for the implementation processes that follow after the strategy and/or concept development phase. You are skilled in handling extensive documents, proofreading, and typography, managing both internal and external partners such as DTP prepress specialists, translators, editors, programmers, and, if applicable, production processes.

You consistently keep an eye on quality, timing, and costs. Reliability is your top principle. Strong communication skills and empathy for all involved parties, combined with confident use of digital tools, complete your profile. Your clients at hw.d are diverse and ambitious, ranging from start-ups and SMEs to DAX40 companies.

  • Overall management, maintenance, and expansion of prestigious client accounts from the implementation phase onwards.
  • Strategic and conceptual advising of clients on all matters related to workflow and quality assurance.
  • Operational management of publication projects — from small to large scale.
  • Leadership and coordination of interdisciplinary project teams.
  • Budget planning and control as well as account management and controlling.
  • Quality assurance, success monitoring, and reporting for your own and team projects both internally and externally.
  • As an active team member in a small but professional team, you will also take on some agency management tasks to a limited extent.
  • Reporting to senior management.

Your profile:

  • A solid education or a relevant degree, resulting in confident handling of text, language, typography, and desktop publishing (DTP).
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in publishing houses or publishing agencies.
  • Experience with digital tools such as Moco, Trello, or content management systems.
  • Interest in reporting – from IFRS to CSRD.
  • Excellent qualitative skills, strong teamwork abilities, and a hands-on mentality.
  • Very good knowledge of German and English.
  • Structured, responsible, and reliable working methods come naturally to you.
  • You have good to very good knowledge of programmes and tools.

What to expect:

  • Professional Team
  • Flexible working hours and mobile office options
  • Attractive employee benefit programmes
  • Very friendly and likeable colleagues
  • A vibrant agency environment in the heart of Munich’s Maxvorstadt district
  • 25 days of annual leave (based on a five-day week)
  • Corporate benefits such as “Happy Day” etc.

We are looking for applicants who want to grow with one of the most successful brand and design agencies and who enjoy working together in a team to solve communication and design tasks at a demanding level every day. Please send your complete application documents to bewerbung@hwdesign.de
