ARBONIA climate — Building a new brand for sustainable indoor climate solutions

As an integrated division of a publicly listed Swiss building components supplier, ARBONIA climate represents a holistic and sustainable approach to indoor climate. With four internationally recognised system brands, as well as additional specialised focused brands and production and innovation centres across Europe, it offers system solutions for smart heating, cooling, ventilation, and energy storage.
To ensure that we can present ourselves as a strong and modern collective of building technology designers for the future, an extensive branding initiative was launched at the beginning of 2023.

Customer Challenge
To enhance the visibility of ARBONIA climate’s cross-brand system expertise, a content-strategic and design-driven redevelopment of a division brand—one that is both communicatively and culturally unifying—was commissioned. The focus of the brief was the development of an overarching brand presence, which should also be reflected in the product brands without fundamentally altering them.
Solution
With the creation of the joint and cross-brand brand promise "Natural Indoor Atmospheres" and a narrative derived from it, the communicative-strategic framework for the transformation towards a sustainable and overarching divisional brand was initially established. This was followed by the development of an extensive design system, which confidently stands on its own while also achieving recognition across the individual system brands through a shared layout principle, emotional imagery, and a newly developed typography.

Insight & Impact
With the move towards an overarching brand promise that places particular emphasis on the sustainable aspect of indoor climate, thereby creating both a conceptual and visual link to the company’s mission, new standards are being set within the industry.
