OPES Immobilien GmbH operates on behalf of the Heinz Hermann Thiele Family Foundation and, just as Heinz Hermann Thiele once did, is committed to sustainable building practices and the development of timeless properties.
One of the buildings in ‘Das Anders Quartier’ – currently under construction on part of the former Knorr-Bremse production site in Munich – is an innovative timber-frame office building concept. This sustainable architectural approach, together with the company’s headquarters in Oberhaching – which is based on the same timber construction concept – inspired the idea of developing a dedicated brand: WOODS.
hw.design was commissioned to develop the brand in line with the brand design of ‘Das Anders Quartier’, to formulate the brand’s strategic messages and to orchestrate the launch.
Customer Challenge
WOODS is a sustainable and therefore forward-looking architectural approach which, in terms of its structural construction, consists entirely of timber. With a 360° sustainable concept encompassing all building services, a benchmark office building type has been created that is unrivalled.
The originality of the approach and the scope for implementing this building type in a variety of ways offer the potential to turn it into a unique brand.

Drawing inspiration from the brand design of “Das Anders Quartier”, the WOODS brand was developed and promoted across various communication channels.
