Founded in 1920, the technology group is working towards climate-neutral mobility of the future, focusing on the strategic fields of electrification and thermal management, as well as other technologies aimed at reducing CO2 emissions. hw.design supported the company over several years with communication strategy matters, as well as the conception and implementation of a comprehensive annual reporting.

Customer Challenge
MAHLE, as a supplier with a history of 100 years of technological innovation in the field of combustion engines, finds itself in the imperative position of having to reinvent itself to some extent in the context of the profound shift towards the electric drive.

Solution
Against the backdrop of this situation, communication-strategic magazine sections were produced year after year as part of the reporting, consistently highlighting the strengths and strategic realignment of MAHLE. The editorial team at hw.design created features worldwide – from Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen to Shanghai. In the course of the collaboration, a foundation was also laid for the implementation of a comprehensive content management system as well as a communication framework.


Insight & Impact
Through the publication of high-quality and comprehensive annual reports, as well as a variety of internal strategic communication projects, MAHLE initiated its communication transformation. Subsequently, the group reinforced its ambition with the claim, “We shape future mobility.”
