New brand design for a new umbrella brand for the international wine industry

Vinventions was founded and established as an umbrella brand with the aim of offering a comprehensive portfolio of wine closure solutions, uniting seven well-established product brands across Europe. Each of these brands was a market leader in specific closure types, such as natural cork, glass or screw caps. The goal is to provide winemakers with the optimal closure solution for each wine—refined through innovation—as well as complementary services that help them achieve performance well beyond their previous results.
Customer Challenge
A newly established international project team comprising all product brands, whose ideas about the future brand image varied greatly.
Solution
In addition to various design scenarios, the narrative “Make every bottle better” played a decisive role. Inspired by the characteristic motion of swirling wine—so typical of the connoisseur—the pictorial element of the logo was designed to highlight the qualitative aspects of the closure solution itself. The design system, based on the umbrella brand, was adapted for a total of seven product and service brands within Vinventions.
Insight & Impact
That the bottle closure plays such an important role in the quality of a wine is something you won’t find in any Johnson. At its core, it’s usually about how much oxygen reaches the wine during storage in the bottle, and about the intended ageing potential of the wine – a science in itself. With its new foundation, Vinventions has made the right decision. Today, the company supplies around 3.5 billion closure solutions per year, is established with employees in 13 countries, and has registered around 100 patents since its founding.
