New corporate identity and design for the renowned architects

Quick Read
allmannwappner is an international, award-winning architectural practice based in Munich and Berlin, with 140 employees from diverse national backgrounds. Each project designed by allmannwappner engages in a context-specific dialogue with its spatial conditions. During the design process, the practice seeks solutions that are grounded both in aesthetic sensibility and in rational, precise structures, while also challenging established design conventions.
Following the departure of founding partner Amandus Samsøe Sattler, an extensive rebranding process was initiated. This led to a new name, a new visual identity, a new organisational structure, and an in-depth examination of the firm’s core values and self-perception.

Customer Challenge
The challenge lay in translating an appearance that had remained more or less untouched for decades into a contemporary language, all while engaging in a profound self-reflection on the future role of architecture and the practice itself.

Solution
A logo and visual identity designed to be understated, aiming not to promote itself but to highlight the firm’s solutions. The naming development should make it clear that the practice is no longer defined by the three founding partners, Allmann, Sattler, and Wappner, but by a team united under the brand name allmannwappner.

Insight & Impact
Change and the role of architecture are, if at all possible, never truly complete even after the design process. The practice is continually engaged in self-reflection thanks to its founding partners and thought leaders, Prof. Markus Allmann and Prof. Ludwig Wappner. This questioning is a driver of ongoing development. As a result, the firm allmannwappner will continue to transform—ultimately undergoing a metamorphosis into something entirely new.
