Die Siemens AG (Berlin und München) ist ein weltweit führendes Unternehmen der Elektronik und Elektrotechnik. 360.000 Mitarbeiter (Stand 30. September 2011) entwickeln und fertigen Produkte, projektieren und erstellen Systeme und Anlagen und erbringen maßgeschneiderte Dienstleistungen.
hw.design arbeitet seit 2008 für die Siemens AG und begleitet seither den Konzern in der Entwicklung und Realisierung seiner Finanz- und Unternehmenskommunikation.
2010 Annual Report
“Our path to sustainable value creation”, the title of Siemens’ 2010 annual report, describes an ambitious claim. Siemens wants to continuously improve in comparison with the market and its competitors and therefore sustainably enhance its corporate value. The assignment was to develop an annual report that does justice to this claim.
The colour green was used as a metaphor to emphasise Siemens’ strength in terms of environment-friendly technologies. A further design feature is the geometric shape of the triangle, which is ideal for conveying the focus of the corporate strategy. A pyramid was designed that brings together all the main elements, the foundations, structure, direction and vision, in a tangible, intuitive way. As a gatefold at the beginning of the company report, the reader is familiarised with the key points of the corporate strategy. This idea is reinforced with a diagram of the One Siemens target system which describes the future path. Photographs bring the description of the strategy to life. On the basis of three projects from all over the world, the reader discovers what Siemens’ strategic goals actually mean. Moreover, transparency and clarity with regard to the text and table structure as well as intuitive navigation through the entire report were taken into account.
